I’ve just finished a new mosaic heart, and it feels especially meaningful with Valentine’s Day coming up.
It’s made from ceramic tiles that were once part of Cartagena’s waterfront. When the old tiles were replaced, I rescued several fragments and gave them a second life. From those pieces, this heart came together. The blue tones are original. The tiny cracks and imperfections are real. They give it character. And most importantly, there is only one like this. Even though I still have other rescued fragments, this exact pattern and combination of pieces will never happen again.
